On Sunday 7th May 2017, the School of Urban Planning and the Centre of Excellence for Urban Planning and Sustainable Urban Development, was host to a lecture entitled "National Strategies for Sustainable Transportation Development and Settlements: An Integrated Development of Space and Infrastructure".

The lecture was in the Negarkhaneh Hall and was presented by Bernd Scholl, professor of Spatial Planning and the new Master Plan for ETH Zurich. First, Dr. Nourian, an academic member of the School of Urban Planning, gave a brief introduction to Prof. Scholl and his resume of works. Then, Prof. Scholl spoke briefly about ETH Zurich and Switzerland before proceeding to elaborate on transportation ideas which could be applicable in the Iranian context.
